Summer Nature Camps

Hop, crawl or swim your way to Leight Park to join one of our summer camps for kids ages 5-17. Paddle the watery world of Otter Point Creek, explore the forest habitat, track down the wild and green things that live around us, and investigate the mysteries of nature in our science lab. Dare to adventure the out of doors and see what fun nature exploration can be!

Registration begins in early February, see our Spring Calendar of Events for specific dates, times and fees.

For more information or to register call the Center 410-612-1688 or email aclec@harfordcountymd.gov.

Camp themes vary from year to year. See the following list for examples of camp titles.

Canoe Explorations

Journey on our waters as we discover the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed by canoe. Each day we will paddle a different location in the local area. Basic instruction will be provided the first day. Bring a lunch and water bottle each day (no glass).

Wet Wonders

In the summer we all love to be in, on or near the water and that’s what we will be doing as we explore the importance of water and wetlands in our watershed. We will explore different aquatic locations with hands-on activities, hikes, games, animal encounters and a canoe trip the last day. Bring a lunch and water bottle each day (no glass).
