Wood Duck Box and Nesting Information


Harford Christian School students have collected the following information for each wood duck box:

  • Physical location
  • GPS location
  • Hole orientation and size
  • Box height from water
  • Presence/absence of predator guard and climbing wire
  • How box opens
  • Assigned number for box


Students collect nesting data for each box every year. Nesting evidence includes:

  • Nesting material used
  • Number of hatched eggs
  • Number of unhatched eggs
  • Any other observations regarding nest and box

Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
(Gates close promptly at 5:00 p.m.)
