How to Attract Birds to Your Backyard
Join birder, Phil Powers, to learn how to manage plantings on your property to complement the feeders and food you use to attract birds to your backyard. Hike to view the birds that frequent the Center’s combination of natural, native habitat and food supplements.

Explore the trails along the Big Gunpowder in search of Virginia Bluebells and other signs of spring. *Meet at Gunpowder State Park

Marsh Bloom Time Monitoring
We seek to train and schedule volunteers to assist with the Marsh Plant Phenology Monitoring Trail. Learn how tracking the timing of life stages of plants helps us study climate change effects, using world-wide databases. Volunteers must be able to safely and comfortably paddle a canoe—all monitoring is from a boat. A monitoring schedule will be created at the time of the training.
